Changshu is one of the birthplaces of the Wu culture, with 3,000 years of history. As a famous historical city, it has assembled excellent human resources. From the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, it has produced 8 number one scholars, 9 prime ministers, and 485 scholars. Since the founding of the New China, 24 people have been elected as academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering. Many cultural groups have been set up: Yushan Guqin Group, Yushan Poetry Group, Yushan Painting Group, Yushan Engraving Group and Yushan Library Group. For many years, Changshu has been listed at the front of China Top 100 Counties. Its excellent location and cultural environment make it attractive to domestic and overseas high-level talents.

So far, Changshu has gathered 61,000 technicians and 330, 000 skilled workers. Each year, there are more than 7,000 college graduates from all over the country come to Changshu for work. And there are more than 5,000 professionals trained by Changshu Institute of Technology, Changshu Vocational Education Center and Binjiang Vocational Training School. Meanwhile, the talent exchange center, the labor market and Binjiang human resources market introduce technicians and skilled workers of high education, high level and high quality from all over China, to provide enterprises with sufficient and excellent human resources.

2. High-level talent introduction: “Develop Changshu by Technology and Education; Strengthen Changshu by Human Resources” is Changshu’s primary strategy. Since 2010, Changshu has been focusing on improving independent innovation in order to realize the core objective of “Double Hundreds and Double Thousands.” It has carried out a series of policies and measures to introduce talents, support business establishment and encourage innovation.

3. Education status: There are 295 schools in Changshu, including 1 college, 8 secondary vocational schools, 41 ordinary secondary schools and foreign language schools, 44 adult education schools, 1 continuation school and 1 special education school.

4. Research institutes: There are 40 natural science academies (associations, seminars) and 89 research and development institutes.

National Key Laboratory of Material Chemical Engineering of Nanjing University of Technology—Changshu Industrial Technological Innovation Center, Engineering Technology Research Center, Academician Work Station and Postgraduate Work Station provide a stage for the enterprises in the park to carry out cooperation of production and study and to introduce professionals.
